Community
At Owens Comfort Solution, our work has always been about more than heating and air. It is about taking care of people, showing up when it matters, and helping Oklahoma families feel safe and comfortable in the place they call home.
Our community efforts were created with that same purpose in mind.
Through charitable projects, local partnerships, sponsorships, events, and outreach opportunities, we are committed to giving back to the people and communities who have supported us over the years.
This page is a place to follow along with our community involvement, learn more about current initiatives, submit nominations, explore recipient stories, and find opportunities to partner with us in making a meaningful difference.
The Oklahoma Comfort Project was created to help bring comfort to Oklahoma families facing difficult circumstances. Through this initiative, Owens Comfort Solution provides complete HVAC systems at no cost to selected recipients who have been nominated by members of their community.
The Oklahoma Comfort Project provides free heating and air conditioning systems to selected recipients through community nominations.
Each story is unique, but the heart behind the project remains the same: to recognize neighbors who have given so much to others and help provide them with comfort, relief, and support in return.
The Oklahoma Comfort Project is made possible through the generosity of Owens Comfort Solution, local suppliers, community partners, and sponsors who believe in taking care of Oklahoma families.
How The Oklahoma Comfort Project Started
The Oklahoma Comfort Project began after Owens Comfort Solution learned about a Choctaw family whose HVAC system had been stolen. After seeing their story covered by KFOR News 4, Eric and Susan Owens felt called to help.
Owens Comfort Solution replaced the family’s heating and air conditioning system at no cost, turning a heartbreaking situation into a moment of relief and hope. What started as one act of kindness quickly grew into something bigger.
That experience inspired The Oklahoma Comfort Project, a community-driven initiative focused on helping Oklahoma families who need comfort, care, and support during challenging seasons of life.
Our Mission
The mission of The Oklahoma Comfort Project is to provide more than a new HVAC system. It is to bring comfort where it is needed most, honor people who have spent their lives serving others, and remind families across Oklahoma that their community sees them and cares.
Through this project, we hope to:
Provide heating and air conditioning systems to families facing difficult circumstances
Recognize individuals who have made a lasting impact on the lives of others
Create moments of relief, encouragement, and hope for Oklahoma families
Bring local businesses, sponsors, and neighbors together for a shared purpose
Continue building a culture of service throughout the communities we serve
Meet Kandee Penwright
Our first recipient of The Oklahoma Comfort Project is Kandee Penwright of Calumet, Oklahoma.
Kandee lives in a century-old farmhouse that has never had central heat and air conditioning. After receiving multiple heartfelt nominations from members of the Yukon High School Class of 1982, Kandee was selected as the first recipient of the program.
Those who nominated Kandee described her as someone who has spent decades putting others before herself. Over the years, she has opened her home to foster children, people experiencing homelessness, struggling families, young mothers, and countless others who needed a safe place, a helping hand, or someone willing to care.
Her compassion has touched many lives throughout her community.
Owens Comfort Solution crews are currently installing a complete HVAC system in Kandee’s home, bringing modern comfort to a house that has never had it before. Her story represents the heart of The Oklahoma Comfort Project: honoring people who have spent their lives caring for others and giving back to the communities they call home.
Submit a Nomination
Do you know someone whose story should be considered for The Oklahoma Comfort Project?
We invite community members to submit nominations for Oklahoma families or individuals who could benefit from a new heating and air conditioning system. We want to hear about who they are, the challenges they may be facing, and the impact they have made on the people around them.
Nominations may include stories of service, generosity, hardship, community impact, or other meaningful circumstances. While not required, video submissions are encouraged and can be a powerful way to share the nominee’s story in a personal and heartfelt way.
Submit a nomination today and help us recognize a neighbor who may need comfort, support, and care.
Please complete the form to submit a nomination for The Oklahoma Comfort Project. Share as much detail as possible so our team can understand the nominee’s story, their current needs, and why you believe they should be considered.
Optional video submissions are encouraged. A short video can help us better understand the heart behind the nomination and the impact this project could have on the nominee’s life.
All nominations will be reviewed by the Owens Comfort Solution team.
